Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her debut EP Pho. It was here that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July in 2015. J. Cole had her submit her tracks in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year, as he wanted Rihanna to be able work alongside her on some of the songs. On December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by an accompanying music video that debuted in February 20th, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In support of the track she performed with 6LACK during December 2018 on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
