Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best known for portraying detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABC's NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of being an official reporter for the court. She began modelling in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. She was cast as a young innocent in 1981's soap opera All My Children. Delaney, a young actress in the 80s, has been featured in numerous TV shows as well as dramas. While she has a career success, her personal life is not content and successful. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past and had two failed marriages. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
